Though there is nothing inherently wrong about including eggs, jelly-beans, and chocolate bunnies in our seasonal celebration, throughout my young life, I never experienced an Easter season focused on Christ. As a mother, I have tried to incorporate a focus on Christ during the season, but to be honest- it has been minimal and we have just never really found anything that felt right. Also, because I tend to rebel against- well, many things, I never seemed to embrace the rituals associated with Easter. But, oh how I crave such rituals now. For I have learned there is beauty and wisdom behind those rituals. My heart has been stirring revival for this season ever since I took part in my first Seder meal, years ago, when I was part of a MOPS group. Yes. It’s taken me years to actually do something about it. I’m really excited about what I have come to learn over the past few years, but mostly, over the past few months as I’ve prepared this journey for us. May we all fully engage in the ache and the beauty as we are lead down the road toward Calvary. It is my prayer that we become rooted, rich in His truth. To breathe in wonder. To breathe out worship. To draw closer to our Savior as we celebrate the Risen Lamb. Hope is rising.
